Roof Window Installation in Bingham: VELUX and Other Makes
A loft that is currently just storage can become a bright room with the right roof windows. In Bingham, where the older cottages often have generous roof spaces and newer houses have standard trussed lofts, the starting point is always what the structure allows, not what the brochure shows.

Evans Roofing is an independent contractor and is not VELUX-approved. We supply and fit roof windows, including VELUX and other makes, in Bingham and the surrounding villages, and we also repair ones that have started to leak. A roof window is only as good as the weatherproofing around it, so the surround is treated as seriously as the unit.
What we fit and repair
Fitting a window into an existing pitched roof means cutting an opening, supporting the timbers around it and forming a weathertight surround to suit the roof covering. Tiles, slates and the flashing kit all have to work together, and a rushed job here is the usual reason a new window drips in its first winter. The loft side matters too, since the lining and insulation around the opening decide how comfortable the room will be.
Older units can be replaced when suitable products and sizes are available, and leaking windows are often down to the flashing or the surrounding tiles rather than the glass itself. Replacing a whole unit is therefore not always the first step.
- New roof window installation in suitable pitched roofs
- Replacement of older roof windows
- Leak investigation around flashings and surrounds
- Flashing details to match the roof covering
- Loft and attic windows for daylight
- Rooflights for flat roofs
Before you decide
Not every loft is suitable. Headroom, rafter layout and the existing structure all matter, and cottage lofts with older timbers can need more preparation than a modern truss roof, and installing roof windows may need building regulations approval, so check with your local council.
Photos of the loft and the roof help us give a sensible opinion. Call or WhatsApp them over and we can discuss the options and arrange a quote. Measurements of the existing opening, if you are replacing a unit, save time.

VELUX Roof Windows in Bingham: common questions
Are you VELUX-approved installers?
No. We are an independent contractor, not VELUX-approved. We supply and fit VELUX and other makes of roof window, and we will explain the differences between the units we can supply.
Can a roof window go into any Bingham loft?
Not necessarily. The rafters, roof pitch and the covering all affect what can be fitted, and older cottage roofs may need extra timber work around the opening. Photos of the loft are the quickest way to start.
