Warsop Flat Roofs: EPDM, Felt and GRP for Garages and Extensions
Terraced rows and family estates in Warsop share one thing: the flat-roofed bits. A back kitchen on a terrace, a garage beside a semi, a lean-to at the rear, a porch over the front door. They are small areas, but when they leak the water comes straight into a living space. Many of them were also added after the house was built, so the details around the walls are often the weakest part.

We install and repair flat roofs in Warsop, Mansfield, Worksop and the nearby villages. EPDM rubber, felt and GRP fibreglass each have their place, and we pick based on the shape and condition of the roof. A garage roof with a shallow fall and a small porch roof with several edges are different jobs.
Matching the system to the building
On a narrow terrace back extension, a single EPDM sheet can cover the roof with very few joints, and its flexibility helps where edges meet walls. GRP suits smaller roofs with awkward details because it forms a continuous finish. Felt remains in use for repairs and new work where the method suits the product.
Flashings, edge trims and drainage matter as much as the surface. A roof that cannot shed water will leak eventually, however good the membrane. Outlets that clog, or a roof with ponding in one corner, are warning signs.

Old garage roofs and approval
Some older garage roofs are cement sheets that may contain asbestos. They should be identified before any work, so mention the garage's age. Replacing or building a flat roof may need building regulations approval, so check with your local council.
Photos on WhatsApp, or a call, are the quickest way to start, and we can arrange a quote. A rough measurement of the roof and a note of its age make the conversation easier.

Flat Roofing and EPDM in Warsop: common questions
Can a flat roof on a terraced back extension be repaired?
Often, yes. If the leak is at an edge or a joint, a targeted repair can work. Where the covering has failed widely, replacing it is more dependable.
What causes a flat roof to blister or bubble?
Trapped moisture or air under the covering is the usual reason, particularly in felt. A blister may be a sign that water has already got in, so it is worth having looked at. Blisters that split are an easy way for rain to reach the deck.
