Guttering, Fascias and Soffits for Ruddington Properties
Rainwater systems on later Ruddington homes are often uPVC that has aged badly, with brackets working loose, joints leaking and boards stained or cracked. New guttering, downpipes, fascias and soffits can bring a house back to a tidy state and, more to the point, move water away from the walls. Overflowing gutters are one of the commonest reasons for damp patches on external walls.

Older cottages can be different, with timber boards, cast-style gutters or lower eaves that need a more thoughtful approach. Evans Roofing Services, based in Beckingham, works on both across Ruddington, Clifton and the villages around.
Replacing or repairing the roofline
If the system is mostly sound, a refitted bracket or a resealed joint may be enough. Where gutters have sagged, split or rotted the board behind them, replacing the run, and sometimes the whole roofline, is the better route.
Soffits give the eaves their finished look and allow air into the roof space, so ventilation is considered when new boards are fitted. A tired roofline is also a way into the roof space for birds and damp, so it is worth dealing with before the eaves themselves are damaged.

Matching the work to the house
On a cottage with exposed rafter feet or low eaves, the profile and fixing of new gutters has to be chosen carefully so it does not look out of place. On a modern house, the aim is a clean, even run with water going where it should. Matching the colour and profile of the existing roofline across front and rear also helps the house look finished.

Fascias, Soffits and Guttering in Ruddington: common questions
Do I have to replace everything at once?
Not necessarily. Replacing only the failed section can be reasonable, but if the boards are rotten or the whole system is ageing, doing the roofline together avoids fitting new parts to tired ones. A quick look at the boards will tell us which route makes sense.
Why does my gutter drip at the same joint every time?
A leaking joint, a sagging section or a blocked outlet is the usual cause. Realigning the run or renewing the joint often cures it, and we check the fascia behind it for damage. Tell us if you have noticed damp or staining along the underside of the eaves, as that is a useful clue.
