VELUX Roof Window Fitting in Worksop Lofts and Attics
Loft conversions and attic rooms are popular in family semis around Worksop, and a roof window is one of the neatest ways to bring daylight into them. It also changes the roof itself, so the work has to be done with proper flashing and a sealed opening rather than rushed. Roof windows can also go into other roof rooms, so long as the structure suits it.

Evans Roofing is an independent contractor and is not VELUX-approved. It supplies and fits roof windows, both VELUX and other makes, from its base in Beckingham across Worksop and nearby areas. You are welcome to ask about the make and size of the unit before work is agreed.
What a roof window installation involves
Cutting into a pitched roof means checking the rafters and the covering around the opening. The flashing must suit your tiles or slates, and the surround needs to be weathertight from day one. The window size and position are worked out against the rafter spacing, since cutting the wrong timber can weaken the roof.
Existing windows can also be replaced where suitable products and dimensions are available. Rooflights for flat roofs are also available for suitable buildings.
- New roof window installation in suitable pitched roofs
- Replacement of older units
- Flashing details matched to the roof covering
- Leaking window investigation
- Flat roof windows and rooflights
- Maintenance checks on surrounds
Fitting windows into older and newer roofs
Terraces with slate or older tiles need extra care at the flashing, while concrete-tiled semis from later estates are usually more straightforward. Either way, the roof structure and the product requirements decide what is possible. Leaks around an older window are not always the window itself, and the flashing is checked first.
Altering a roof or converting a loft may involve building regulations approval, so check locally before starting. Call or WhatsApp with photos of the roof and the room if you would like to discuss a quote.

VELUX Roof Windows in Worksop: common questions
Are you VELUX-approved installers?
No, Evans Roofing is an independent contractor and is not VELUX-approved. It does supply and fit roof windows from VELUX and other makers, so ask about the alternatives when you get in touch.
Why does a new roof window sometimes leak?
Usually the cause is the flashing, the surrounding tiles or the installation detail rather than the glass. Each of those can be checked, and a repair or a re-fit may follow. Fixing the underlying detail works better than adding more sealant.
